Wedding Party

Melissa Genove
Maid of Honor

Best friend, confidant, and partner in crime. The two met as scribes in the ER in 2008 and became fast friends through their love for food, couponing and margaritas.  Although they truly only had a year's time before Jenn would move to Illinois, the two were nearly inseparable. When Jenn finally moved to Illinois, they continued to stay current and up to date with each other's lives. They talked on the phone every week and visited one another frequently.  Despite living 2,000 miles away from one another while Jenn was in medical school, their friendship not only endured but was also strengthened throughout the years.

Rosalie Tran
Bridesmaid

Of all the bridesmaids, Rosalie has known Jenn the longest. In fact, she has known her for her entire life! Rosalie is Jenn's oldest sister and longest friendship. The two grew up very close and have been the inventors and executioners of mischief and mayhem for their poor mother and father. While the two are complete polar opposites of each other, they were nearly unstoppable as a team together. Jenn grew up calling her 'Rolo' after the candy, but don't be fooled! Rolo is far from sweet. She did her duty as big sister and defender from bullies. Despite their different tastes, Rolo has helped mold and encourage Jenn's own voice and style.

Jessica Huynh
Bridesmaid

Of the bridesmaids, Jennifer has known Jess the longest. They have known each other for a total of 18 years, which is to say that Jenn has known Jess for her whole entire life.  Although she will be standing as a bridesmaid in Jenn's wedding, their relationship did not necessarily get off on the smoothest start. In fact, they were practically mortal enemies. Until the age of ten, Jenn had become comfortable with her role as the youngest child. Then, in the spring of 1995,  Jenn realized that her entire world would change...  the moment she realized she was now the middle child... Through their bitter struggles, a friendship was forged as Jessica began to develop her language and was able to express real world opinions.  It was not until they discovered their love for zesty nachos that the two realized they were, in fact, kindred spirits.

Mia Luu
Junior Bridesmaid

In the winter of 2001, Mia was born to Jenn's oldest sister, Rosalie. Jenn instantly fell in love with her, and she has had the privilege to watch her grow and blossom into a young lady. Being true to her title as "Jenn's mini-me," Mia is not only is a spitting image of her aunt but also shares many of the same interests. They both love animals, are interested in music, enjoy puzzle and board games, and popping tags with only twenty dollars in their pockets. Mia has also been a major support system for Jenn during her time in medical school. She would often send her homemade videos, making her feel like she was still home while being away from home.

Matthew Winthers
Best Man

Matt is my older and only brother. Separated by two years, we have been hanging out since I can remember. Whether it was bike rides to 7-11 or reading him strategy guides while we conquered video games, we did it all together. While I may have annoyed him at times, he was always there for me. We fish together, play music together, play Xbox together, you name it; we do it together. Matt was selected as my best man because no one else knows me like he does. He has been there for me, and he has always invited me into his circle despite being the little brother. When I interviewed for medical school, he would ride with me for hundreds, even thousands, of miles around the Midwest just to hang out. We grow closer and closer as the year’s progress despite the distance that separates us.

Luke Hattendorf
Groomsman

Luke and I met in the fifth grade. He has been one of my few friends I have known since middle school. We originally bonded over video games, Nintendo 64's goldeneye to be specific. I had fractured my leg at the time and we would spend hours competing and gaming amongst ourselves and other friends. Once I healed, we played on the soccer team, learned how to skateboard, and spent many summers kicking back at the lake house together. Our friendship did not stop there, throughout high school we continued to skate and film. We also learned how to snowboard together over the winter months. Despite going to college 2,000 miles from the Midwest, we would spend long nights playing halo via Xbox live. Our friendship remained stable throughout college and when I graduated, I had just learned how to play the guitar. Luke on the other hand, had great success in Las Vegas that year and bought a drum set. We began to jam together in his basement, and within 5 years, we had performed numerous gigs in the Chicagoland area. No matter what the obstacle, we have remained strong friends 15 years. Luke is my best friend.

Luke Cronin
Groomsman

I met Luke my freshman year in high school through an introduction to drawing class. We immediately found common interest in snowboarding, and thus the beginning of our lifelong friendship was founded. Throughout high school, we taught snowboarding at Villa Olivia. When we were not snowboarding, we were wakeboarding or hanging out at local skate parks, and when we could not make it to the lake house or the skate park; we would build crazy trampoline contraptions and 3 story snowboard drop-ins to fill our need for adrenaline. On the rainy days, we would stick to Xbox or tinkering with cars in his barn/garage. It was in his 3 cylinder geo metro that I learned how to drive stick, and we would spend hours seeing if we could top 50 mph down a local stretch of road. Once we mastered the geo, we eventually upgraded to a 6-speed Nissan Altima and 5-speed Mazda Miata. I am winning 2-1 in the quarter mile drag in case you were wondering. We stayed in contact throughout college via Xbox live and when I returned to Chicago, Luke became the lead singer of our band. As with Luke Cronin, the three of us have performed many venues during medical school. We continue to snowboard in Colorado and connect through gaming via the internet. Luke is my best friend.

Austin Tran
Junior Groomsman

In the Winter of 2010, Jon and Austin met for the first time in San Jose, California. Austin is Jenn's only nephew and, luckily, the two hit it off right away. They bonded over music and food. Austin even showed Jon some of his dance moves. They got along very easily, which was likely catalyzed by the fact that they were outnumbered by all the women in Jenn's household.
